Pacific Driver Education

Last Update: April 2025

We want you to feel comfortable choosing Private Driving lessons, online or in-person classes, or a DMV Driving Test. To that end, PDE exclusively employs well-trained, highly responsible, and respectable in-car and administrative professionals. Every employee is subject to an extensive, annual Oregon DMV background check.

Terms and Conditions for DMV Drive Testing

All DMV exams are conducted in vehicles owned by Pacific Driver Education. All exams are recorded to ensure professional and respectful conduct. Videos are not available for viewing and are captured exclusively for compliance and insurance purposes.

Pacific Driver Education provides official non-commercial driving tests for Oregon drivers under an agreement with the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). PDE exams are conducted in accordance with DMV policy and procedures regarding scoring and reporting scores to the DMV.

When you schedule an exam on our website, you do so with Pacific Driver Education. The DMV does not schedule, cancel, or reschedule your exam when you schedule with PDE.

Cancellation Policy - Drive Test:

If you cancel your scheduled driving test with less than 24 hours’ notice, miss your appointment, or do not arrive on time for your appointment (*on time means 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment so that you can check in and complete paperwork to start the test at your chosen time), you will not be eligible for a refund.

  • A “cancellation” is any missed appointment that the student, parent, or guardian scheduled.
  • Arriving without a current and valid instruction permit, other acceptable ID, or missing required license restrictions, such as eyeglasses, will be considered a cancellation.
  • The appointment will be deemed a cancellation if you are impaired for any reason (lack of sleep, medication, intoxication, etc.).
  • The appointment will be deemed a cancellation if DMV2U shows you as ineligible at the time of your appointment.

Refund Policy - Drive Tests:

Our refund policy is designed to ensure fairness and manage our resources effectively. We strive to be fair in all our dealings and cannot guarantee a refund for an exam if you book more than one exam at a time. If you book more than two driving tests, no refunds will be given on the additional bookings.

  • If you schedule an exam and the DMV system finds you ineligible for any reason on the day of your exam, your fees will be forfeited.
  • If you cannot attend your exam due to illness, please contact us as soon as possible.
  • If you forget to bring a photo ID or are found to be ineligible to test, you have one opportunity to reschedule your appointment for a $15 fee, payable in person on the day of your scheduled test. Please note that no refund will be provided. You will forfeit your fees if you miss the exam a second time.
  • Cancellations with two or more business days’ notice will be refunded minus a $10 bank fee.
  • You will not receive a refund if you do not pass your test or miss your scheduled exam. Should you want to book another appointment, you can do so at your own expense.
