Under a new ODOT program, the DMV will waive the road test for students who have successfully completed this course.
Course requirements:
How it works:
Students are required to drive for a minimum of five hours with a parent or guardian during the course. This practice is essential to preparing the students for the final driving test.
Your student’s instructor will send you a progress report by email following each of their driving lessons. Each drive has a list of specific skills that students must master. It is critical that your student has the opportunity to practice those specific skills with you. You will be notified if your student is not progressing toward mastery and may therefore be in danger of not passing the final driving test.
If your student fails the final driving test:
In the event that your student fails the final driving exam, you may choose to have them re-test at a later date. All retesting must be completed no later than 10 days from the date of the final classroom session or the student’s sixth driving lesson, whichever is later.
Students who fail the driving test will not receive an ODOT certificate. However, they will be issued a certificate from Pacific Driver Education detailing their hours of classroom and behind the wheel training.
